The Mayakoba Cooking School: Where Famous Chefs Share Their Secrets

Over the past year, El Pueblito at Mayakoba has earned a reputation as the best location for cultural events in Playa del Carmen. With monthly Farmers Markets, free outdoor movie nights, yoga classes, food festivals and much more, this Mexico-styled square provides a truly lovely setting. This month, El Pueblito got even more interesting when it opened its new Mayakoba Cooking School!

Along with other fellow influencers and press people, I was kindly invited to the newest trend at the Pueblito Mayakoba: The Cooking Class. The concept is not only amazing for a learning (with world known chefs!) point of view but it is also very entertaining, as the interaction between the chefs and us, students, is part of this fun and interesting culinary experience. After enjoying a delighful spicy Margarita, we were led to our very large and beautiful kitchen classroom where we each got to choose our seats.

The usual, yet the best, cooking tools were waiting right in front of us on our table, ready to be used. We were then introduced to the charming and energizing Chef Eva Millan, a MasterChef finalist who has now come to work for Mayakoba right here in the Riviera Maya!

Chef Eva and her team taught us how to prepare a traditional specialty from her home country of Spain: Tapas EspaƱolas. Throughout the class, we were taught how to prepare 4 different kind of tapas. With Chef Eva Millan's amazing bubbly personality, our class had a vibe like no other!

Liz Perea Barrientos, Public Relations Manager of the Riviera Maya Tourism Board, and Carla Toledo, blogger, influencer and founder of Soy Playense.

We had the opportunity to learn from one of Spain's most renowned chefs, all while sharing cooking tricks, techniques and some laughs thanks to this event at El Pueblito Mayakoba.

The cooking class is the perfect way to learn from the pros while having an amazing time with friends in one of Playa del Carmen's most luxurious hotels! A special thank you to Edna Vega, the Mayakoba Marketing and Public Relations Manager, for inviting us to such a tasty culinary experience!

Cooking classes at the Cooking School will be going on this weekend, as well, starting Friday! Mexico City / Dallas Chef Abraham Salum will be giving two days of cooking classes at $50 USD - $60 USD each. See the schedule below, and contact elpueblitoevents@mayakoba.com to reserve your spot. Spaces are limited.

As for me, I can't wait to see what other chefs come to the Riviera Maya to teach at the Mayakoba Cooking School! You can keep up with the latest classes by following El Pueblito at Mayakoba on Facebook or visiting them online at MayakobaCookingSchool.com
