Answers to Your Qs: Buying Property in the Riviera Maya

Buying real estate in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya should be fun (not scary!), and we want to make it as easy and stress-free as possible for you to own your dream home or rental investment property in paradise. That's why we’ve partnered with Kay and the team at Loco Gringo to produce a new monthly Q&A segment on their popular podcast where we answer all of your most common questions about buying property in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya.

If you’re not already familiar with the Loco Gringo Mexico Podcast, it’s a great resource for people living and traveling in our area, as well as for people considering relocating here. In each episode, Kay interviews amazing Riviera Maya locals who share their unique stories along with tips and insights on the attractions, culture, and cuisine of the region.

In our first Q&A episode Rob discusses the legal requirements for foreigners to own property in Mexico, and answers some common questions about the Fideicomiso (akin to a bank trust), which is the most popular way for foreigners to own property in the Riviera Maya.

So if you’ve been considering buying property in Playa del Carmen or the Riviera Maya, whether you want to move down here full-time like we have, or you’re interested in owning a vacation home or rental investment property, we encourage you to listen in so that you can learn more about the local real estate market and get answers to any important questions you might have.
